Clean Fleets North Texas 2015 Call For Projects

No Longer Accepting Applications

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) has closed the Clean Fleets North Texas 2015 Call for Projects (CFP).  This CFP will award approximately $2.5 million in grant funds for public and private fleets operating in the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) 10-county ozone nonattainment area.

Importance of Emissions Reduction

Funded projects will help reduce vehicle emissions and help the DFW region meet federal ozone standards. Ten DFW area counties are designated nonattainment for ground-level ozone pollution, which means that levels exceed standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency to protect human health.  In addition to threatening human health, high ozone concentrations pose a risk to the environment, wildlife, agriculture and manufactured structures in the region.  Ozone nonattainment can also cost the region economically – businesses may be subject to more strict regulations.  It can also put funding to build new roadways at risk.

Focus Area

Projects will be selected based on cost-effective emissions reductions.  NCTCOG is especially interested in projects that involve pre-2004 heavy-duty vehicles with high-intensity duty cycles.  Examples include, but are not limited to:   Refuse Haulers, Bucket Trucks, Concrete Trucks, Dump Trucks, School Buses, Delivery Trucks, Urban Buses, Transit Buses, Fuel Trucks and trucks that use power take-off.
