RCC Transportation Study |
The Naval Air Station Fort Worth, Joint Reserve Base (NAS Fort Worth, JRB) Regional Coordination Committee (RCC) and Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) implementation efforts are an initiative of the cities of Benbrook, Fort Worth, Lake Worth, River Oaks, Westworth Village, and White Settlement in conjunction with Tarrant County. Local governments surrounding the NAS Fort Worth, JRB have voluntarily formed the Regional Coordination Committee to promote and preserve the military mission at the installation. The Committee is responsible for encouraging compatible land use planning, conducting community outreach, and participating in military affairs surrounding NAS Fort Worth, JRB. Recognizing the land use constraints and development pressure surrounding the installation, a Joint Land Use Study (JLUS) was initiated in 2006 by the base, the communities, and the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) to identify actions needed to enable the continued coexistence of the installation and the communities. Several recommended initiatives were developed as an outcome of the JLUS process, including a Multimodal Transportation Study. The aim of the study is to develop solutions for surface transportation issues in the communities surrounding NAS Fort Worth, JRB. |
