We want your feedback on this report as well as projects and programs being implemented. Every decision NCTCOG makes requires extensive input from the people using – and paying for – the system. The NCTCOG Transportation Department offers several ways for residents to stay informed and involved.

This report has provided a snapshot of progress throughout the region. Many NCTCOG programs, projects and policies help make the North Texas transportation system world-class. From roadway and rail projects connecting residents to their jobs and other parts of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, to air quality programs educating the public and inspiring people to make a difference, improvements are making life easier for 6.5 million people.

Progress will continue, and as it does, your opinion will be relied on to steer programs, projects and policies in a direction that will be most beneficial. Indeed, you can help influence what the transportation system looks like and how it connects people.

The NCTCOG Transportation Department offers several ways for residents to direct the debate. Here are five ways you can influence the development of the transportation system.

1. Public Meetings
Public meetings held throughout the region allow people to interact directly with planners working to improve mobility and air quality. The department spreads the meetings throughout the region and offers both morning and evening options to provide residents the best chance of attending.

2. Phone/E-mail
If you can’t make it to a meeting, share your ideas about transportation and air quality with us by sending us an e-mail at transinfo@nctcog.org or calling us at 817-695-9240.

3. Internet
The Transportation Department maintains a homepage with the latest information on its programs, projects, policies and outreach, including publications.

4. Social Media
One of the newest tools to promote interaction is social media. Facebook and Twitter help the department spread messages quickly and interact directly with followers. The immediacy of social media helps the department reach people with relevant information, but it also provides a platform for the public to discuss needs and priorities with NCTCOG. Many times people using the system every day will have an idea planners had not considered.

5. Tell a Friend
The department uses a mixture of traditional communication tools and new methods to reach out to residents. Tell us what works for you. What are we doing right? What could we do to reach you more effectively? If you would like more information on the activities of the department, visit the home page, where you will find publications, reports, presentations and more information that will help you understand the transportation issues the region faces. Help us by spreading the word that the Transportation Department relies on the input of the public. The more voices involved in developing transportation solutions, the better the system will be for everyone.
