DART brings rail to local, world travelers
Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) provided North Texas rail passengers a connection to the world last month with the introduction of Orange Line service to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport. The final five-mile extension of the Orange Line makes DFW Airport the nation’s third busiest airport with a direct rail connection to the city center. The DART rail system now covers 90 miles and offers 62 stations.
Rail service at DFW Airport provides travelers access to many North Texas destinations, including Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center, the Dallas Arts District, NorthPark Center, Fair Park, American Airlines Center, the Irving Convention Center and employers throughout the rail corridor.
Riding the Orange Line to and from the airport offers a convenient and cost-effective way to travel. DART’s local fare is $2.50 for a two-hour pass and $5 for a day pass. Terminal parking costs $18-$20 daily, and remote parking $9 per day. Travelers can park for free at DART stations.
Not only does the Orange Line connection create additional transportation options for travelers, but it also provides the approximately 60,000 DFW Airport employees the option to commute by transit directly.
The DFW Airport station is located between International Parkway and the North Service Road, which provides convenient access to Terminal A. From there, passengers heading to or from the airport’s other terminals can use Terminal Link and Skylink. Passengers can take early morning and late night trains to conveniently get to their flights, work or destinations throughout the region. Trains run to and from DFW Airport frequently.
