The Aviation program area is currently engaged in the development of an Ordinance for theoperation of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) in the region; implementation of Joint Land Use Study recommendations surrounding the Naval Air Station Fort Worth, Joint Reserve Base funded by the Department of Defense Office of Economic Adjustment; planning for Surface Access to regional aviation facilities; and also the continued development of the North Texas Aviation Education Initiative.
The North Central Texas Council of Governments is collaborating with military and community leaders on Joining Forces, a Regional Joint Land Use Study that will identify and recommend land-use strategies to preserve several North Texas military installations and their ability to operate.
