Water Resources Council

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY OF COMMITTEE
The Water Resources Council, established in 1979, advises NCTCOG's Executive Board on both technical and policy issues related to water resources matters. The committee reviews day to day technical issues; oversees the water resources planning process; and performs technical review of water related grant applications.

TERMS OF OFFICE

Members of the Water Resources Council serve a two-year term, with one half of the seats requiring action each year by NCTCOG's Executive Board. A Chairman and Vice Chairman are appointed annually by the Board.

STANDARD MEETING TIME, DATE, LOCATION
The Water Resources Council meets at the NCTCOG offices at 10:30 a.m. on the second Thursday of any month requiring committee action. Meeting location and time may be adjusted to accommodate special presentations or schedule conflicts. Meetings

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Of the 27 regular seats, five at-large members are identified and appointed by the NCTCOG Executive Board; the remaining 22 members are selected by the joint treatment works system operators and their customer councils on an agreed upon formula and are confirmed by NCTCOG's Executive Board.
