Substandard Structures and Municipal CodesDescription: Instructor: Donald "Chip" Matthews, Texas Illegal Dumping Resource Center This class covers the recommended investigation process to dealing successfully with substandard structures in cities and integrating municipal ordinances into that proess. Who should attend? Local code enforcement officers and registered sanitarians; building officials and board members; community development directors; city attorneys; city and county staff and elected officials needing a good understanding of effective methods of dealing with substandard structures. This is an ideal class for both new and experienced municipal code enforcement officers as well as for municipal boards reviewing these properties. Continuing Education Information: Code enforcement officers: This training is approved in accordance with Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Rule 62.24 for code enforcement officer/code enforcement officer in training registration renewal in Texas. The curriculum consisted of five (5) hours of professional, supervisory or management training related to the profession of code enforcement and one (1) hour of Legal / Legislative Update Related to the Profession of Code Enforcement, for a total of six (6) hours. Registered sanitarians: This training is approved for six (6) continuing education hours under Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation regulations. Law Enforcement Agency Training Officer: Peace officers seeking to earn TCOLE credits for completion of class should verify with their Training Officer that this class meets Agency requirements prior to registration. **Note that parking is limited.
