Mobile Food Trucks and the 2018 IFC

Description:

Open forum discussion with AHJ heads or their designee regarding new automatic fire suppression system requirements for mobile food cooking applications per the 2018 International Fire Code (Section 319). Forum will include brief presentation on IFC and NFPA requirements, discussion on how permitting and inspection practices may occur from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, suggested identification recommendations of inspected facilities, spacing requirements from adjacent trucks or structures, and miscellaneous fire safety practices for food trucks.

Also in attendance will be the State Fire Marshal, Chief Orlando Hernandez and his executive staff, NCTCOG Fire Advisory Board members, ICC governmental representatives, and NFPA administrative and technical experts. Forum discussion may lead to NCTCOG recommendations to local AHJs, 2018 IFC amendments, or recommendations. Presentation introduction and forum will be led by the Fire Prevention Association of North Texas (FPANT).
