Free Septic System Basic Maintenance for Homeowners WorkshopDescription: The North Central Texas Council of Governments would like to invite you to attend the upcoming Septic System Basic Maintenance for Homeowners Workshop on July 25 in Burleson from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. During this FREE workshop, attendees will learn about the basics of operating and maintaining a conventional septic system and how to protect it from damage, including treatment processes, health and safety considerations, and how to inspect and maintain the system on your own. Attendees will also learn about the legal requirements for maintaining a septic system properly in Tarrant County. This workshop will include presentations from Ryan Gerlich, an Extension Program Specialist with Texas A&M AgriLife Extension, and Becca Grassl-Petersen, a Sanitarian II with Tarrant County Public Health. The North Central Texas Council of Governments is working with stakeholders to implement bacteria TMDLs throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. To view the I-Plan for Twenty-Two Total Maximum Daily Loads for Bacteria in the Greater Trinity River Region, or to utilize available resources, please visit www.nctcog.org/TMDL.
